Trip to the doctor

We took Savannah to the doctor today because she has been really congested the past 10 days. (she weighs 16lbs 1 oz!)They did an RSV test and it came back negative. THANK GOD! She just has a bit of head cold. The doctor listened to her heart and checked her ears. He said she looked and sounded fine. He prescribed her some decongestant medicine. It may or may not work but it's worth a shot. I am going to pick that up this afternoon. Other than that this head cold will have to work its way out on its own. Savannah seems very happy, she doesn't seem at all bothered by this "yuckiness" as I like to call it. She loves to smile and laugh. She likes her exersaucer so much these days, I can leave her in it for an hour and she will be content.
Her six month check up will be towards the end of May. That visit will be just a routine well check up. I am really looking forward to this check up because we should be getting the green light for rice cereal and other baby foods. I am very interested in pureeing her baby food. I hear it is a lot better and cheaper. It also does not take up a lot of time. I cannot wait for these next milestones coming up. She is growing so fast and you better believe I DO NOT take any day for granted.
Have a wonderful day everyone!

Love,
Emily

Savannah's Baptism..........

was this past Sunday, the 19th. It was such a special day. We had family in town from all over and she did such a good job! Savannah was baptized at Frazer UMC during the 9:3o Traditional Service. John Schmidt did the Baptism. Everything seemed to be going okay until it was time to go up and John introduced our daughter as Sara Claire! It was corrected towards the end of the baptism and will make for a good memory, but I couldn't believe he got her name wrong. It was even on the pamplet he was reading in big, bold letters. After the baptism we went to eat lunch and it was delicious. Now that Savannah is Baptized I feel, as a parent, even more lead to raise her up in a Christian environment. I pray that I can be a Godly example, being able to teach her scripture and about Jesus. What an exciting journey we have ahead as parents. I cannot wait!!!!!

Let me back up to Saturday, we went to the Georgia Aquarium and what fun we had! We went with the Leaders' Club with the Prattville YMCA. Will and Jen, the other advisors for the club, brought their 7 month old, Caleb. After we looked at all the fish, Caleb and Savannah played together a little bit, it was the cutest thing ever!!! It was a long day but definitely worth it. I will post some pictures soon.

Happy April!!

Wow, I can't believe it is April already. Time is really flying. This weekend is Easter! Looks like I have a busy week ahead. This year Easter is going to be very small, regarding family members I mean. Aric's mom is still in Michigan. For those who don't know his Grandfather lives in Michigan and has been having some health problems. I'm not sure of all the details but I do know he is doing better. She will not be coming home for Easter, they still have to wrap up some more doctor's appointments before she can head back. Shari (one of Aric's younger sisters) has moved to Tennessee to be with her fiance and won't be coming home for Easter. Aric's oldest sister Mary Beth who lives in Mississippi won't be coming to town either. So, as for Aric's family it will just be his dad and youngest sister Kristen. As for my family, my mom and dad will be here but my sister who lives in Fairhope may or may not be here. Ok so to FINALLY get to my point, there will be few of us here for Easter but we will be very thankful for the family that we do have here to celebrate with.
Easter is one of my favorite holidays. It is such a great reminder of how much our Lord and Savior, Jesus truly loves us. He died for us! How amazing is that!!??
The rest of the month is going to be pretty busy. The weekend after Easter we will be having Savannah baptized at Frazer. Did I mention that is also the weekend that my best friend is having her "bachelorette" weekend at her parents lake house?? April is going to be a very busy month for us but it's all fun stuff so no complaints from me!
Aric and I have recently made a decision to choose a new Sunday School class. We are looking for a more biblical based class that really dives into scripture. The class we were in before was great but we realized that it just wasn't quite heading in the direction we thought it was. Please pray for us as we start the journey in search of a new Sunday School class. For anyone that knows, it can be very difficult. You really want to make sure you are choosing the right class not only for the subject matter but for the people too. If you are in a class that teaches something that you love but you can't fellowship with your classmates then what is the point???
Well, I need to get back to some house chores. I will update again soon.
Take care everybody!!
Love,
Emily
