In 5 more days, Savannah Claire Lobenstein will be 1 year old. A lot has happened in one year and I cannot wait to see what the next year will bring.
This week I will be finalizing all of her birthday party "stuff". Not much to do but get the food and a couple of more decorations. It is going to be a fun day.
Aric has been a lot of help in planning this birthday. It is so great to have a husband you can bounce ideas off of and who can be so helpful. THANK YOU ARIC! I tend to have my moments where I get overwhelmed easily and he is so good at keeping me on track. A good friend of mine, Brie Smith, also helps to keep me on track and I am also thankful for her.
I called to make Savannah's 1 year check up, but it will not be until December 1. A little delayed, I know, but it is kind of my fault since I didn't make the appointment until last week. I never knew a pediatricians office could be so busy! Anyway, those 1 year stats will be posted shortly after that visit.
For those of you wondering about 1 year pictures, we WILL be getting those done and I will post those pictures as soon as I can.
I better get off of the computer so I can start getting things done. I am so excited, words cannot describe!
I hope everyone has a truly blessed day and remembers to live their lives for the glory of God.
Love,
Emily

Fall = Fun times
My favorite time of year is here! Football games, nice weather and cute babies dressed up in cute costumes!
We took Savannah to her first Auburn game at the beginning of September. It was a night game so needless to say we didn't stay the whole time. Savannah did great! She clapped when the band played and bounced up down when the music in the stadium was going. She was so cute!
The most recent game we went to was Auburn v. Furman, the homecoming game. We stayed the whole time and once again she was a doll. She even took a short nap in the stadium!
Halloween came and went very fast. We attended the Fall festival at Frazer. Savannah decided to be a butterfly and she was the cutest butterfly ever! Just a side note about Halloween. I don't know how other new parents are doing about this but we had a hard time trying to decide how to handle certain holidays. (Halloween, Christmas, Easter, etc.) For Halloween, we didn't know if we should partipate or not. We personally, were struggling with what Halloween really represents and do we want to raise Savannah with Halloween being something that we participate in? Aric and I both did Halloween growing up and are not scarred from it. It is so different when you become parents though. You want to be a good example and you want to teach your children the right things, the right morals and values. So after a good discussion with some great friends who are also solid in their walk with the Lord, we decided we would participate in the dress up part of Halloween but remember where our ultimate focus is. Dressing up is fun and candy is too, but we pray every day to keep Christ in the center of our family. I will have to get to Christmas later but that holiday will be tricky too because, that one is actually important. It's not about gifts that you get but the gift that God gave us........Jesus.
Moving on to other things. Savannah has a new trick. If you say, "nose" she will reach up and grab your nose. It is precious. She is not quite walking yet but that is fine by me. She keeps us busy enough with crawling. I can't imagine when she starts running around all over; I don't know what I am going to do! :)
As most of you know, she will be a year old a week from today! I really can't believe it and I will probably sound like a broken record all week by saying that. It seems like just yesterday that we brought her home from the hospital. She was this little 6 lb. 11 oz bundle of joy. Of course she is still a bundle of joy but she weighs 20lbs now and is getting bigger every day! Here are some updated facts about our Sweet Savannah:
-still takes about 2 naps a day, at least an hour long.
-down to 1 bottle a day and will eliminate at one year or so.
-drinks from sippy cup very well
-loves cheerios, pizza, pasta, ritz crackers, stage 3 baby food, bananas to name a few
-still doesnn't take a paci and does not suck her fingers
-she loves to slide and swing.
-she is very curious and determined. sometimes hard headed!
-she doesn't watch much TV but when she does, it's Disney's Playhouse.
-she loves to smile and sometimes wave, she can be shy at times.
Have a great day and Happy Friday!!!
Love,
Emily

9 month check up = Fun stuff!
Hello everybody!
So, obviously I STILL haven't posted any recent photos. It will probably be awhile before I can do that now. We are having someone working on our house during the day all day, so until he is done, I am "kicked out" of our house while he is working. I am SO SORRY. Please keep checking the blog and if you want to see some recent photos, there are a few on Facebook.
On to the good stuff, Savannah is crawling faster than ever these days! She can now pull up on just about anything and everything; she is keeping me very busy, but I love every minute of it.
We had our first emergency with her last week. She decided to pull up on the dining room chair using my purse and it was too top heavy and fell on her. We took her to the doctor in frantic mode, well, I was in frantic mode, Daddy was very well composed. She turned out just fine and the next day you couldn't even see a bruise! WHEW! I thought I kept a close eye on her before but now, I don't let her out of my sight. I still let her explore and learn but am much more cautious.
She is such a big girl, here is just a few of her other accomplishments:
-can clap hands together when we sing "Patty Cake."
-says Mama and Dada all the time.
-understands, "NO!"
-pulls up in crib and is waiting for us anxiously in the morning with a big smile on her face.
-has mastered all of her 2nd foods and now on to the 3rd foods.
-has two bottom teeth trying to come in, one is already showing!
-loves bath time
-loves it when i sing to her-
-plays independently very well :)
Here are some stats from her 9 month check up today:
-26 1/2 inches long (30%tile height)
-19 lbs 6 oz (75%tile weight)
Her head cirumference was in the 90%tile!!
Not only is she short and chunky, but she has a big head!! As Aric likes to say, she needs room for that brain to grow! ;)
She is still suffering from some separation anxiety but I think she is getting better. I am getting more involved in church activities which means more time in the nursery with other babies. She does really well in the nursery and it just makes me smile when i hear good reports from the ladies that watch her.
Savannah is still a very curious baby. She likes to study things before she get's into it. She is going to be very analytical like her daddy!
Baby girl can sleep! She can get by with one nap a day but usually takes two and sleeps through the night. Down by 9 or so and up at 7. It's fantastic! :)
I believe she is going to be a daddy's girl. Every evening when Aric get's home she literally will crawl as fast as she can toward him or if I am holding her, she will try to jump out of my arms to get to him. It is very sweet and I love the fact that she knows her daddy :)
As for Aric and I, we are always busy. We are finally getting some one to fix the problems around our house. Once that is done all we will have to do is paint and replace the floors in the kitchen and dining room. There will be some minor updates that will need to do, like replace light fixtures and fans but we are getting somewhere so, that's progress!
Leaders' Club is starting back up and we are looking forward to a great year of mentoring and ministering to the teens of the Prattvile YMCA. Then, Auburn football is right around the corner and for once I am not really too excited. I am trying to stay positive this season but so far it is looking very bleak.
What an exciting busy year we have ahead of us. We cannot wait to see what God has in store for us.
God bless and have a wonderful day!
Love,
Emily

Crawling and into everything
Savannah is now officially crawling! She started slowly, Monday of last week and by the end of the week it was perfected. She is now into everything! She is such a curious baby. I want her to be able to explore and learn but there are certain things we are teaching not to touch. It is hard for me being a new mommy "spanking" her and saying "NO!" beacause, she makes the most awful sad face and it breaks my heart. Besides crawling, she is doing very well pulling up on things. She can pull up on her exersaucer, the couch her crib and her playpen. I really have to keep my eye on her these days; watch out world, here she comes!!
Savannah's eating habits still vary. She has completed all of the 1st foods and once she got used to them, she did a great job. I called the doctor to ask about the 2nd foods, since she still has no teeth and they said we could go ahead start them. Well, the 2nd foods are not going so well. She seems to be in this spell of not wanting to eat. I give her the baby food 3 times a day and that is a struggle. When it comes to her bottle sometimes she drinks it all and sometimes she will only take 1 or 2 ounces!! I'm not too worried though. Some good friends of ours went through the same thing with their little girl so I think it's just that babies appetities vary as they are growing.
For all of you I am going to make it a point TODAY to post some more pics.
Again, thank you for following our blog.
Have a blessed day!!!
